EXTREME WINTER WEATHER HAS IRELAND ON RED ALERT, AND IT LOOKS SCARY

If you haven’t already heard, the U.K., especially in the north, has been getting pummeled with snow from the so-called “Beast from the East” over the last week.

Now a blizzard, nicknamed Storm Emma, is hitting the region, causing massive delays and cancellations at airports across the region.

Ireland was placed on red alert on Thursday, and looking at some video shot at Dublin Airport, it’s easy to see why. The airport’s official Twitter account shows heavy snowfall and strong winds whipping around the tarmac, around several grounded planes.

All flights from Dublin are currently suspended until Saturday morning, Mashablereported. Even though the plan is to reopen, the airport is recommending travelers check their flight status before even thinking about heading to the airport.
Scotland had been on red alert since Wednesday in anticipation of the snow and freezing temperatures.
